Ferrero recalls the above products, although none have been tested positive for salmonella and the group has not received any consumer complaints from Germany. All other Ferrero products, including other “baby” products, are not affected by this voluntary recall.

Customers who still have one of these products in their cupboard at home should refrain from eating it. Instead, they should contact Ferrero customer service. As a result of the recall, the authorities have now ordered the closure of the Ferrero plant in Belgium.

First report, Tuesday (April 5), 5:53 p.m.: Shortly before Easter, Ferrero is recalling several products in Germany. Many chocolate snacks are influenced by the well-known “Kinder Chocolid”. The reason for the recall was the suspected presence of salmonella, which was initially confirmed abroad.

Chocolate withdrawal in Germany: Ferrero recalls several products from the “Children” range

The affected products were manufactured at the Arlon factory in Belgium. Previously there were Ferrero recalls in Belgium and Great Britain. It was justified by “the many outbreaks of salmonella reported in several EU member states,” the responsible Belgian authority declared (more on recalls and warnings in RUHR24).

On Friday, Germany joined France and Sweden. Ferrero explained that the recall of Kinder Chocolate products was voluntary and as a precautionary measure. They are working closely with the relevant food authorities in Germany to uncover a possible link to a number of reported cases of salmonella.

So far, no complaints have been received from consumers. In addition, no “baby” products have yet been proven to be infected with salmonella. However, the topic is taken very seriously. Currently, there is another recall for dessert – halva with pistachios.
