A series of (10) NFTickets in partnership with popular artists will be published every 14 days via the auction platform The first ticket will be available through a live auction on April 11th at 4PM EST.

“Innovation is in our DNA. We have been pioneers in applying new technologies to our industry, and that will be the case with NFTs as well. It could be the next step in the travel industry,” said Bernardo Botella, Director of Global Sales at Air Europa. An airline that uses blockchain technology to manage inventory and distribution. We are excited to see where this requires travel as a whole and how it can improve the customer experience.”

NFTickets operate like traditional NFTs and are individually rare. When trading, transactions are securely recorded on the blockchain. When it is ready to use, the owner can submit an NFT and a matching flight ticket will be issued. Air Europa’s TravelX and NFTickets offer buyers an opportunity to create a portion of their travel history and participate in their first blockchain-powered flight.

NFTicket series titled ‘Art as a destination’ Curated by Ximena Caminos, who commissioned acclaimed multidisciplinary artist Carlos Betancourt for the first work. His works deal with questions of memory and personal experiences, as well as questions of nature, the environment, beauty, identity and communication. Carlos Betancourt’s artwork can be seen in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC, among others.

Betancourt said, “Artists are fascinated by discovery and exploration. The same goes for technology. Through this work, I am experimenting with the boundaries of art and technology. The moving artwork is inspired by spatial concepts, magical worlds, and also travel experiences such as the memories and feelings that these experiences evoke.”

“It is very exciting to launch a new type of NFT minted on the carbon-negative blockchain in Algorand,” Facundo Diaz stated, Co-founder of TravelX. “We will offer the best of traditional NFT, but with real-world application and experience. The result is a better flight ticket that travelers can easily manage and trade from their blockchain wallet, along with a new collectible. We believe NFTickets will be the perfect fusion between art and travel. and technology.”

To celebrate, TravelX is hosting an invited guest event at the Eiffel Tower to coincide with Paris NFT Day (April 12) and Paris Blockchain Week (April 13-14), where the final presentation of the first-ever NFTicket ticket will be announced.
