In the Höhenberg Sports Park, children and young adults can look forward to various hands-on activities, an exercise course and exciting first-hand climate knowledge from experts. The event is held under the auspices of Zurich Verschrung, FC Viktoria Köln and the school management in Cologne. For each completed station, the Zurich Foundation for Children and Youth donates an amount to the ConAction eV . School Gardens Project

the program

One of the highlights of the program is an interactive lecture by author Bert Hermann, navigator’s wife on the cruising Boris Hermann and initiator of the educational project “Malizia Ocean Challenge”. Birte Herrmann gives insight into the adventures of seafaring Boris Herrmann and his mission to win the race against climate change and save the oceans. Exciting stories about life on the high seas go hand in hand with interesting information about what is currently happening to the oceans and how even small actions can contribute to protecting the climate. Information and operation stations also provide the opportunity to delve deeper into marine and climate protection issues. Green tech nonprofit Wasser 3.0 shows, for example, how small and invisible microplastics are and how they affect the ecosystems in our waters. All partners provide materials for further discussion of the topic in class or at home.

Sports health and exercise should also be transmitted in a sustainable way: the unique exercise cycle combines elements from the Vussballschule Viktoria and units from the German Triathlon Federation. Daily life lessons and the opportunity to learn about the triathlon in Cologne guarantee lasting pleasure with exercise in everyday life. Healthy food is provided to the participants and their companions.
