Not learning vocabulary for 44 days, thinking about math equations or doing homework: summer vacation is wonderfully long. But if all friends are on vacation, and the weather is bad and nothing else is going on, the time can become too long. However, the Go-in team and their 22 collaborators have an antidote to boredom: holiday fun. 34 events for children and young adults are planned between June 24 and August 9, with registrations beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Bönen – After two restricted Corona programs, the holiday fun brochure is filling up again this year. Among them are such popular offers as a visit to Stemper’s organic farm in Lenningsen (June 27 and 30), fishing with the Hefischer or afternoon games at the Community Library (July 5 and 21), as well as brand-new campaigns.

The start of the holidays

So the beginning is different this time. Instead of a graduation party on the last day of school, a game exchange party is planned for June 24 at Go in. From 2 to 2.45 p.m. kids and teens can deliver old toys there – up to seven parts – and from 3 to 4 p.m. they can then choose something else. Small cafe serving drinks and snacks at low prices.

What’s new in the program

Colorful Litter Bins – Clean Playground: Creators 10 and up should make sure of this by painting the litter boxes with artist Kerstin Donkervoort from June 29 to July 1. It will later be installed on the playing fields in Bönen. Participation costs 1 euro per person.

Bunin’s Treasure: In cooperation with the Una District Cultural Office, adventurers from the age of six can go hunting for treasure in the municipality from June 30 to July 1. Show them a mysterious road map. The cost is 5 euros per child.

Thinking about the future

Anyone between the ages of 13 and 23 who advocates for LGBT rights can participate. A preliminary meeting for joint banner and poster design is planned for 24 June at the Queer Café in Holzwickede. The fare to Cologne is 1 euro.

Under the motto “I, you – we”, children from the age of seven discover the differences and similarities in Go in with pictures and Games from July 25-29. There is a fee of EUR 6 per child.

“Do you like what you see?” Ask the staff from the Children’s, Youth and Falcons office from the Dortmund region. At the Children’s Rights Workshop on August 4, the environment will be explored, videos and photos created with tablets, street art will be made and more. There are no costs.

Trips and trips

Finally again: Holiday fun offers the opportunity to do it six times over. On June 28, a bus takes children and young people aged 10-17 to the Efteling theme park in the Netherlands.
