A busy program that has not been seen since the outbreak of the Corona pandemic has emerged. If you sign up now, you can collect your favorites from over 60 promotions. Log – How does it work?

The central website is www.ferienprogramm-garbsen.de. It has been active since May 27 and will be active for three and a half weeks. As of June 22, all comments will be evaluated and registration confirmations sent. If you want to participate, you can now create your own online wish list. The first step is to register with your name, age, address, email, username and password. Once you fill out and submit the form, you will receive an email with a link to activate your account.

Then you can access the list of shows in the clearly arranged calendar. Offers can be filtered by costs, period, categories, and with or without registration. The three sites, each containing 20 displays, can also be read completely fast. Each offer contains text with basic information about the content, price, meeting point, times, age group and contact person.

Payment – this is how it works

Once the city administration has reviewed all applications and notified the participants from June 22nd, it is time to pay. This is possible online using Paypal, Giropay, Paydirekt or credit card. If you cannot or do not want to, you can also pay in cash at City Hall on three days: on June 27 and 29 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and also on June 28 from 8 a.m. To 12 noon and 1 pm to 4 pm Reservation is not complete until participation fee has been paid and parental consent has been given. Any seats not paid for by July 1 will go on sale starting July 2 . So it might be worth checking out the program again on July 2nd for free places.

Children’s Festival begins

“This year’s holiday program can begin with a great variety of attractions under the most pleasant conditions,” writes Kathryn Eastman from the Department of Youth and Integration. “Together with the clubs and societies, we have put together an impressively attractive programme.” The start was on the last day of school, July 13, with the Big Kids Festival, which always opens the holidays in Garbsen. The city has not yet announced the time and place.

If you filter the holiday program by adventurous keywords, for example, you’ll find seven shows: Hamburg’s Dungeons (7 August) and Hanover’s Room Escape (8 August) are two destinations, Walsrode Bird Park and Family Trip to Serengeti Park are two more. In Garbsen, Scouts organize a campfire with an all-night scavenger hunt at Berenbostel (August 19). DLRG Garbsen launches its lifeboats and spends three hours with seven to twelve year olds in the Central Canal. The Berenbostel fire brigade provides a view from the top of the turntable in Town Hall Square and much more in the “Day as a Firefighter” show.

Nature, fresh air, play and learning: this is possible on 15 July in Garbsen with wildlife guru Torsten Vogel in Auterwald near Osterwald. Those who participate can read the animal tracks afterwards and build an Indian teepee. Exploring Hamburg’s wonderful city parks is a whole new offering of youth care (July 28), as is visiting Aqua Magica Park Bad Oeyenhausen (July 26). The Kneipp Association invites children and young adults to go on a geocaching treasure hunt. Garbsen Fishing Club is once again offering holiday fishing in the Bassriede Basin (August 14).

Kronsberg and Auf der Horst Holidays

Youth welfare is very consistent with its commitment in the neighborhoods of Kronsberg and Auf der Horst. Free holiday weeks with new offers every day are among the oldest projects in the holiday program. Alexander von der Heydt and Michael Anclam of the Bernpostel Youth Center, along with the Newland Social Project and Scouts Jokemop, are presenting Kronsberg Project Week from July 18-22, daily from 10am-1pm.

The date of “Children’s Play Days” in the Auf der Horst region is August 22-24. For the first two days the Leisure Center team will come to the Jupiterhof’s “Frog King Playground” from 2pm to 5pm with lots of play materials and crafts. On August 24, the team will take the participants to the district farm in Hanover.

Get creative in Cali

The Cali Cultural Center is also stationary. This year the team is organizing a separate creative week for children and young adults. The School of Music and Arts aims to immerse participants in the diversity of the School of Music and Arts course program. The theme will be “Children’s Rights Path”. It is attended by art schools throughout Lower Saxony. From July 18-22, participants will be making mini garden plates, printing pillows, weaving dream catchers, and painting their own porcelain breakfast plates. At the end of every creative day, music is made with simple means and tools. The end of the project is the presentation of the creative results to a selected audience. Subscription is free.

For the summer holidays, the city once again offers reliable holiday care “Villa Kunterbunt”. The offer is for working parents and single parents. These periods can be booked: July 18-22, July 25-29, August 1-5, August 8-12, and August 15-19, daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children between 6 and 11 years old can participate.
