Where do we celebrate children’s birthdays? Seven great ideas for kids’ parties in Berlin

Anyone who’s ever tried to make a crowd of elementary school kids happy by beating the pot and searching for treasures and ice cream will come to a painful conclusion quickly: Next year we’ll do it differently, please!

If you are lucky and have a garden, you can rent a rubber castle. Of course only in the summer. It’s always more complicated for winter babies. What do I do? where? It doesn’t matter if you’re partying during the cold season or just don’t want to entertain the crowd at home – we’ve got some great ideas that are sure to score points.

Dino researcher at the Natural History Museum

The bad news first: the weekend is much needed. And dates in the colder months in particular are sometimes fully booked a year or two in advance – which doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try and you might just be out of luck. Now, as of September 2022, appointments for 2023 can be booked again.

In principle, children’s birthdays can also be celebrated during the week (except on Mondays; always from 3 pm) at the Natural History Museum. The performances are categorized by the age of the children, and each celebration lasts about three hours. There’s a dinosaur party for five-year-olds and a memory lane ride for eight-year-olds.

In addition, a banquet table is waiting for the birthday child and his guests. You either have to bring your own drinks and food, or you can buy them at the Museum Café (important: book in advance!). If you wish, you can also book a birthday tour, for example (50€ flat rate including 45 min admission). Dino crafts cost 110 euros (plus admission), as well as the trip to the past.

Jumping endlessly in Jump3000

Over 50 jumping rugs, exciting parkour tracks, and 2,000 square meters of action: if you want the kids to tire themselves out at the Christmas party, you’ve come to the right place. Allow two and a half hours to visit, of which 90 minutes is pure jumping time.

After the hop, you are offered a menu of your choice (pizza or sausage), and there is a fixed price for drinks included in the package price (from €160). The price also includes special jump socks to wear. Indoor trainers are required to practice parkour.

Get upset at Tommy’s Tobewelt

Children’s bright eyes and glowing red sweaty faces are simply part of Tommy’s turbulent world. No kid takes a break here voluntarily – unless he takes a quick sip. There is simply a lot for you to experience: climb, slide, jump, swing, throw, shoot.

There are five different birthday packages to choose from. It includes at least one drink per child, a birthday table decorated with a throne and name tag, and something to eat (like chicken nuggets and fries).

Costs range from 16 to 28 euros per child, and an additional 2 euros on weekends and Fridays. Adults must pay the usual admission price. Parties are suitable for children between the ages of two and eleven. You may bring a birthday cake, but you may not bring any other food or drinks. Don’t forget to stop by the socks!

Royal celebration at Charlottenburg Palace

Many girls dream of becoming a princess, walking in the castle, dancing in a ball gown. This doesn’t have to remain a dream, because Charlottenburg Palace makes just that possible: a journey back in time to the 18th century.

The birthday of the child is a king or queen. Haircuts and costumes are done, the court topic is discussed, then children marvel at the magnificent rooms, and at the end a proper minut is danced – to baroque music specially recorded by the Berlin residence orchestra.

Up to 12 people (including 2 accompanying people) can participate in this royal celebration. Duration: about 2.5 hours. Bookable weekends until December 18, 2022 (also October 3; 10am and 2pm) for children ages 7-12. The cost of the birthday party is 135 euros per group.

Note: If you like it a little: at the Grunewald hunting lodge you can celebrate children’s birthdays under the theme “It’s Haunted”. This celebration is also suitable for children from 7 to 12 years old and lasts about 2.5 hours. The price is the same, i.e. 135 euros per group (maximum 12 people, including 2 accompanying people).

Charlottenburg Palace, Spandauer Dam 10-22, 14059 Berlin. It’s an 11-minute walk from the Westend S-Bahn (S46, Ringbahn) station.

Play and experience music at Clingends Museum

If your child loves music, a party at the Klingendes Museum may be just the thing: here kids can try different instruments, with the guidance of an experienced music teacher. Finally, the birthday child is allowed to conduct a small orchestra.

Of course there will also be a banquet and drinks. Birthday parties are suitable for children of all ages. If you wish, the Klingendes Museum can come to your home.

Depending on the package you book, the event lasts approximately two to four hours and costs between 150 and 350 euros. Tip: With the Grande package, you can even build your own gadgets.

The Musical Museum, Behmstraße 13, 13357 Gesundbrunnen, directly at the Gesundbrunnen Underground Station and S-Bahn (Ringbahn, S1, S2, S25, U8) or behind the Gesundbrunnen Centre.

What a circus: stand in the ring by yourself

Learn matchmaking, try acrobatics, walk on a giant ball: the Christmas party at the children’s circus in Kapuisi is one of the most unusual challenges you can offer children in Berlin. Rarely is there so much fun and enthusiasm for new things – kids learn something that no one else can do and they will be incredibly proud of from now on.

The festival program can be arranged individually. Currently only the circus in Tempelhof offers to host children’s birthday parties, but the Cabuwazi website is updated regularly. The other five sites are set to host birthday parties again.

Depending on the package booked, time of year and location, costs are around 350 euros. You can reserve decorations, cakes, snacks and drinks or bring your own decorations. Currently up to 20 children can participate in Tempelhof and are guided by two coaches. There will be three hours of rehearsals and practice, with a total of one hour as a break.

Through the arrangement, it is also possible for children to give their parents a small performance of the art they have recently learned at the end.

Capoise Circus for Children, Columbia 84, 10965 Tempelhof. It is only a 2-minute walk from the Golßener Straße bus stop (bus M43).
