Daily school life can be stressful, especially in light of the past pandemic period. Exercise, a balanced diet and mental health are most important. Several existing studies by DAK-Gesundheit show that individual health problems have become significantly worse during the pandemic. For example, in the past two years there has been a significant increase in depression and eating disorders among girls and obesity among boys.

What we do today for body, mind, and spirit will pay off later.

This is exactly where fit4future comes in and offers a comprehensive program with the unique nationwide prevention initiative for primary and private schools (fit4future Kids) as well as all types of secondary schools (fit4future Teens) to enhance the health care of children and youth in the long run. Participants receive all the skills and suggestions needed to create a healthy environment for both children and educational staff in a sustainable and independent manner. Since the inception of fit4future in 2016, more than 1.2 million children and youth have participated in more than 3,100 nursery centers and schools.

Healthy Living Environment School – Work areas from physical activity to mental health

After the summer vacation of 2022, a new version of the program will begin, further developed in terms of content and methodology. Objective: Progressive and needs-oriented support to create a healthy living environment for children, youth and adults. fit4future supports children and young adults in leading their lives in an active, healthy and mentally strong way. Now as well as in the future.

The focus is on the areas of exercise, balanced nutrition, mental health and mental fitness, as well as addiction prevention. fit4future is available in independent programs for children ages 6 to 12, teens and youths ages 10 to 19. Since young people in particular have a wide range of topics on their agenda, Fit4future Teens content and offerings are tailored to fit two age groups: 10-15 years and 15-19 years until school graduation. Because this is the only way to ensure that health promotion hits the nerve, inspires people to actively participate, and can be implemented successfully and joyfully.

Working materials, video and audio presentations, workshops and seminars
The new version of the initiative offers a wide range of analog and digital materials, including business cards, fit4future boxes with play and sports equipment, schedules and video and audio formats designed for the target group. The digital offerings can be accessed and used by participating organizations on a protected health platform. In seminars and workshops, fit4future also imparts expert knowledge and practice-oriented skills for health promotion in everyday school life. Other events are actively networking and experimenting with content. Training in small groups enables strategies for individual solutions to health issues.
